 | September's Top Hurler is Kaat Saturday, October 1st, 1966: Jim Kaat's been around the league long enough to appreciate the honor he received today. After going 6-0 in September, the 27-year-old Chicago hurler has been named National League Pitcher of the Month. He fanned 23 in 41 innings, logged an ERA of 3.29 and allowed opponents to hit .272 against him. To this point in the season, Kaat shows a 13-11 record, 35 starts, 236 innings, 117 strikeouts and a 3.51 ERA. |
